#23 no it really is just the beginning

Well, here I am standing at the end of a major learning curve. I cannot even explain how much have gained by participating in the library 2.0 program.

YES it has been time consuming and YES I have barely scratched the surface but YES I have learnt heaps and even now at 10.00pm on Sunday night I am here working away because I am fascinated by learning and sharing and that's why I work in Libraries and that's why we should all be congratulated for our skills and talent our ability to take on huge tasks and achieve our joy in learning and sharing. YES we are Librarians and YES we are Great

#22 Audiobooks (the end is in sight )

Download able audio books is a great idea, it would make it easier for customers to access books that we do not hold in our collections . Our audio books tend to get damaged easily, discs get scratched, and tapes are already out of date technology and when it is an older item, it is not always able to be replaced. Having books which you can download for a loaning period makes a lot of sense .It is probably a something I would recommend .

#21 Podcasts

I trawled the the podcast directories I found Podcastnet good and I liked the way it worked, and I just found that I got much better results.
I think that podcasts could be a very good training tool for libraries , as a training tool for staff or customers. I could see it being used the same as as the way they have been used for the library 2.0 program.

Blog data and graphs. Bling your graphs by choosing a background an explore and compare data, graphs and maps
Upload and update data from a spreadsheet. Ccopy and paste data from the web and also integrate data from Google spreadsheets

I also spent heaps of time exploring the web 2.0 awards and have added a widget from Springwidgets but I want to add music to my dancing cherries so I am hoping that the next module will give me an insight on how to add music.

for #18

Today I played around with Zoho writer. Rather than spend time creating a special document I decided to just use one of their templates and published directly from Zoho to my Blog. It was very simple to do. If Zoho works this well I could see no reason to purchase word.

#17 wiki

Sorrry I rushed ahead I just loved this!! It's something that appeals to my Library Brain.I added my Blog to the Mornington Peninsula Heading

#16 Wikis

Wow I like this!! I can certainly see fantastic Library opportunities for Wikis. I will add more to this post about it as I am rushing ahead to add my Blog to the list.
Back to #16 after achieving adding my Blog to the wiki.
I am totally sold on Wikis. What a fantastic way to promote anything you would like, an exceptional marketing tool, community information announcements feature collections connect like minded people, people with limited mobility, Just Great

#15 Library 2.0

In my role as a Branch Librarian, I find it interesting to see Library Services evolving and embracing the social computing software of the Web 2.0 space. Library Managers will need to be prepared for their users to comment, discuss, rate and link, both with other users and with library staff about the resources and services that libraries offer.
2.0 is very social. 2.0 is super interactive. 2.0 connects people.

Coping with all the "New Stuff" a bit of a stretch at the moment for Librarians and Library services. My own feelings are that we have lost some of the magical momentum that we had when public libraries were leading the way.Library services embracing the wonderful resources of the Internet by providing excellent training courses and sharing our searching skills.
Now we need the time and the resources to regain our lead.

#14 Technorati

I spent some time exploring Technorati and felt that I wasn't getting it. What was I looking for ? Why I wasn't excited by Technorati? I did some research to be be honest all I know is that it's an intergal part of the blogosphere. If you create a blog or have a blog to ensure that you are noticed on the site.
Popular Tags and searches - The biggest blogs in the blogosphere, as measured by the number of people who have made them a Favorite Boing Boing is the most popular.
